Ingredients for Cowpea lollipop:

  1. Cowpea (leseramaah) 100 gm 
  2. Few toothpicks 
  3. Garam masala 
  4. Rice flour and corn flour (1:1) 
  5. Turmeric 
  6. Pinch of hing (optional) 
  7. Salt to taste 
  8. Oil for frying 
  9. Chat masala 
  10. Black salt.

Recipe:

  1. Make spirals with cowpea and close them with toothpicks. 
  2. Steam the cowpea spirals in the steamer (Don't boil) for 2/3 minutes on the high flame. 
  3. Dry them with tissue papers and keep aside. 
  4. Make a thin batter of rice flour and corn flour (1:1), adding garam masala, salt, turmeric, pinch of hing and water. Batter is ready now.
  5. Add steam cowpea spirals to the batter and keep for a minute. 
  6. Heat the oil, pull out the cowpea spirals with batter and drop them in the hot 🔥oil. Fry till cowpea spirals turn golden brown. 
  7. Keep them on the plate with tissue paper to drain out the oil. 
  8. Add chat masala , black salt and mix well. 

Your cowpea lollipop (spiral) is ready to eat.
